Introduction

Merchants can edit a widget's design using an AI prompt: clicking an element in the design area shows an Ask AI button. Describe the change in words, and AI updates the widget's visuals.

This applies to widgets on Popup on ATC and Cart Drawer. Widgets on Checkout, Post-purchase, and Thank You are not supported.

How Merchants Do It

  1. Open a widget in the Widgets Editor (a widget that belongs to Popup on ATC or Cart Drawer).
  2. Click the element you want to change. The Ask AI button appears next to it.
  3. Type your request in the "Tell AI what to change" field (for example, "change this button to red and round the corners more") and click Send to AI. The preview shows an AI processing badge, then updates the result directly on the design.
  4. If you're not happy with the result, click Undo.

How to Calculate AI Credits

AI Cost = CostUSD of the LLM model call × 100

Example — one LLM model call:

  • Input tokens: 4k
  • Output tokens: 1k
  • Cost: $0.02
  • → GemUpsells cost = 0.02 × 100 = 2 credits

Rules to Know

  1. AI only changes the visual part: color, font size, spacing, corner radius, and similar styling. AI does not change prices, names, or real product images, and does not change products, discounts, or conditions — those are edited in the Settings panel or on the canvas.
  2. AI processes a single prompt shot. It has no memory of previous requests.
  3. AI only acts on the currently selected element and the device view you're on (mobile or desktop). After making a change, check the other view as well.
  4. Every AI change can be undone and redone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. AI didn't change anything.

The request may be out of scope (changing product data, restructuring the widget) or too vague. Try rephrasing it more specifically, and make one change at a time.

Q2. Can AI create a funnel or suggest a strategy for me?

Not yet. AI currently only edits a widget's design.

Q3. Does using AI consume credits?

Yes, credits are deducted based on the user's current plan.

Current Limitations

  • Only available for widgets on Popup on ATC and Cart Drawer; AI editing is not yet supported for widgets on Checkout, Post-purchase, and Thank You.
  • No multi-turn conversation; AI does not remember context between requests.
  • No AI funnel creation or AI data analysis yet.
